The Reverend Louis J. Trivison, Pastor Emeritus, Resurrection of Our Lord Parish, Solon, Ohio, died 17 March 2010, at the Jennings Center for Older Adults, Garfield Hts., Ohio after receiving the prayerful support and consolation of the Sacraments.
Louis Joseph Trivison, the son of the late Emilio and Louise (nee Zaciaquini) Trivison, was born on 21 October 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio.
He is the loving brother of Sr. Mary Louise Trivison, SND, Margaret “Peggy” Trivison, and the late Rita Schleimer (Howard); and cherished uncle of four.
He was educated at Murray Hill Elementary School, Saint Ann Elementary School, Our Lady of Peace Elementary School, Cathedral Latin High School, Saint Mary College, Saint Mary, Kentucky, and Saint Mary Seminary, Cleveland, Ohio. On 22 May 1948, in the Chapel of Saint John the Evangelist Cathedral, Bishop Edward F. Hoban ordained him to the priesthood for the service of the Diocese of Cleveland.
Father Trivison’s first assignment was as an assistant at Our Lady of Mount Carmel (East) Parish, Cleveland. On 7 January 1954, he was transferred to Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Parish, Wickliffe where he served until 21 June 1960 when he was appointed assistant at Holy Redeemer Parish, Cleveland. On 10 June 1965, he was transferred to Saint Louis Parish, Cleveland Heights. On 14 June 1971, Father Trivison was appointed the first pastor of Resurrection of Our Lord Parish, Solon, Ohio. Father Trivison served there until his retirement on 30 June 1996. In recent years he provided pastoral care at Light of Hearts Villa where he resided.
In 1957, Father Trivison served as director of the Painesville Deanery Sodality Union. From 1958 through 1966, he served as a member of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission. In 1969, he was appointed a member of the Diocesan Commission for the establishment of Parish Councils.
Father Trivison’s wake will be held in Resurrection of Our Lord Church, 32001 Cannon Road, Solon, Ohio, on Sunday, 21 March, beginning with Vespers at 3 p.m. and continuing until 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, 22 March, at 11 a.m. Bishop Richard G. Lennon will be the principal celebrant and father James P. O’Donnell will be the homilist. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio.
