CHARLES S. McHENRY, 87 of Auburn Twp. December 19, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Regina (Martin), and the late Lorraine; dear father of Charles Jr. of Auburn Twp.; Step-father of Peter of Reminderville, Paul, of Chardon, Jackie, of Colorado, and Nikki of Tennessee; loving grandfather of 9; great grandfather of 6; Chuck served in the Navy during WWII aboard the submarine USS Finback, mainly in the South Pacific, and aboard the USS Bang during the Korean War. He was a life member of the VFW 12067 Chagrin Falls, and Chuck was extremely active in Alcoholics Anonymous for 45 years. He began to live well on August 25, 1966. Chuck was very devout lifelong Catholic and freely expressed God’s love. Mass of Christian Burial Friday December 23, 10AM at Holy Angels Church, 18205 Chillicothe Rd., Bainbridge Twp. Interment Western Reserve Cemetery, Chesterland, where full military honors will be conducted under the direction of VFW 12067. Following the burial, fellowship and a meal will be at the Family Life Center, 16349 Chillicothe Rd., Bainbridge Twp., where a gratitude meeting celebrating Chuck’s experience, strength, and hope will be held at 1PM Friday. Family will visit with friends at STEINBAUER FUNERAL HOME, 33375 BAINBRIDGE RD., SOLON FROM 1-4 AND 6-8 PM THURSDAY. Momentos to be placed with Chuck in his casket are encouraged.
